Groundwork Plus is proud to continue to work with CSR in the planned redevelopment of the Warner Quarry. We congratulate CSR on progressing into the public notification stage of the assessment process.
CSR will create a new residential development standard in Warner, replacing the operating clay quarry with homes, parks, habitat, pathways, bikeways and roads. The quarry has been part of the community since the 1970s, and CSR has been a significant employer locally and has maintained their social licence to operate with their neighbours. The quarry is to the south of Warner Lakes, at the corner of Kremzow and Old North Roads. The quarry is operating and will do so for the foreseeable future. It supplies clay to the CSR brickworks in Oxley and Darra.
CSR is progressively rehabilitating the site, and a residential development is proposed to replace the quarry, which will be redeveloped with up to 460 dwellings, new trees, 7 hectares of preserved habitat, roads, paths and bikeways. A development application was lodged in 2018 with Moreton Bay Regional Council and has recently moved into the public notification period.
MR ANDREW MACKENZIE, GENERAL MANAGER CSR PROPERTY, has stated that “We intend to deliver a world-class, balanced and sustainable residential development outcome in Warner. CSR has been generating jobs and opportunities in this community for a long time - as a quarry operator and as a developer. We are experienced in local remediation, having rehabilitated and developed the Warner Lakes, Aldi and Bunnings sites, all of which were previously CSR quarries”.
