1. How long have you been with Groundwork Plus?
I’ve been working at Groundwork Plus for 2 years. Prior to working at Groundwork Plus I spent 2 years living in Canada, travelling around British Columbia and Alberta chasing winter and experiencing everything the great outdoors has to offer.
2. What is your role at Groundwork Plus and what does it entail?
I am a town planning consultant. My role includes the preparation and management of development applications and providing town planning advice to our clients. This involves direct liaison with Local Governments, State Government, sub-consultants and clients while keeping abreast of the changing planning legislation and process.
3. What are your areas of particular interest or your proudest accomplishment?
I particularly enjoy the problem-solving component of my work. No two days are ever the same and there is always a new issue that challenges the status quo of the planning process and requires outside the box thinking. As much as our clients probably hate the obscure and non-standard issues that arise from time to time, they are what keep me motivated to learn and push me to question standard practice. There is never just one answer to a question or problem.
4. What is your favourite way to spend a weekend?
Friends, family, food and drinks is always the recipe for a great weekend in my books. A cheeky camping trip to the beach or a weekend away at my partner’s parents' farm is always high on the list as well.
