Field Officer
1. How long have you been with Groundwork Plus?
I have been with Groundwork Plus for about a year and a half now, and absolutely loving it as my first job in the field of Environmental Science. Prior to Groundwork, I was a veterinary nurse, a job I got whilst in high school which saw me through university. I believe this job was a great way to learn the basics of lab work and develop professional working relationships, not forgetting the daily puppy cuddles!
2. What is your role at Groundwork Plus, and what does it entail?
My role at Groundwork Plus is a field officer, with my responsibilities now stepping up slightly more into the realm of environmental consulting. I coordinate the field work required of our team each month; head out to complete field sampling several times a fortnight; complete monthly reporting, as well as assist with more in-depth reports that are requested by clients.
3. What are your areas of particular interest or your proudest accomplishment?
My proudest accomplishment so far is to have always had a job I really enjoy!
4. What is your favourite way to spend a weekend?
From a young age, I was always obsessed with life outdoors, whether it was catching and inspecting fascinating insects I found on the property I grew up on, or going for bushwalks with my family, or walking along the beach looking for shells with my dad. This has been carried through into my adult life, with most weekends spent outdoors with my family and partner. If I am not spending time with my family, going for a bush walk, or heading to the beach, I am either catching up with girlfriends or enjoying a quiet weekend at home.
