Carly Monaghan
Graduate Environmental Consultant
1. How long have you been with Groundwork Plus?
I started at GWP in December 2021 after finishing Honours in Soil Science at The University of Adelaide. I was hoping to find a role that was diverse and fast paced, and that is certainly what I got! Living in the Barossa all my life, I was stoked to find a job so close to home, which still offers me the opportunity for travel and growth in the future.
2. What is your role at Groundwork Plus, and what does it entail?
As a Graduate Environmental Consultant, I get to help with environmental monitoring and assessment, proposals and reports, mapping, site visits, and I have recently been learning about tenure management. Really, it is a mixed bag, and every day is different.
3. What are your areas of particular interest or your proudest accomplishment?
My areas of professional interest involve environmental project management, sustainable development, and environmental remediation. I am really excited to see how technology is going to keep developing to assist with these areas.
Personally, my interests involve gardening, home renovation and coaching and playing field hockey for a local team.
4. What is your favourite way to spend a weekend?
If I am not out in the garden or at Bunnings for supplies, you will find me out at hockey, or at a local winery with friends.
