This month marks the fifth anniversary of our NATA-accredited geotechnical laboratory, and we are thrilled to celebrate our journey and share exciting new developments.
Managed by Business Manager Dave Gregson and Laboratory Manager Steve Bird, the professional team has over 45 years of combined experience in laboratory services, and the petrographic team boasts over 20 years of hands-on quarry resource evaluation and petrographic knowledge, ensuring that our clients receive expert analysis and reliable results. We pride ourselves on our comprehensive scope of work, accessibility, reporting, testing and sampling according to Australian Standards, Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, ASTM International, AS/NZS, EN, and in-house methods.
Our facility has the latest technology and a temperature-controlled laboratory that enables us to sample an array of materials and perform various tests, including rock, aggregate, soil, petrographic analyses and specialised testing for dimensional stone.
Expanding Our Scope with Dimensional Stone Testing
This year, we are particularly excited to announce the expansion of our testing capabilities to include dimensional stone testing. As the second laboratory in Australia to achieve ASTM scope accreditation for this specialised testing, we are at the forefront of meeting industry needs. The journey to this achievement began as a response to industry demand and client requests. After a thorough evaluation, we embarked on a six-month process of research, equipment acquisition, and quality assurance activities to meet NATA's stringent standards.
Our new dimensional stone testing capabilities include bench-top testing for stains and cleaning products, abrasion methods, salt attack tests for coastal applications, and modulus/flexural testing to ensure stone durability under load. This comprehensive testing ensures that our clients can have confidence in the quality and performance of their materials.
